Dr. Mark Fuller dedicated his career to pastoral ministry. This included leading two of the nation’s most prominent Nazarene churches. He led CrossRoads in Chandler, Arizona, through 18 years of dramatic growth. He then led the congregation at Grove City in Ohio for 13 years navigating them through generational changes.
An alumnus of Mid-America Nazarene and Nazarene Theological Seminary, Mark was honored by Mt. Vernon Nazarene University with a doctoral degree in 2010.
Mark is a frequent speaker at national leadership venues, former Director of Church Based Programs at Nazarene Bible College, and a longtime board member of Arizona Christian University. Throughout his ministry, Mark has mentored numerous influential church leaders. He has written articles for several religious
journals along with his book, “Consumed, An Introduction to the Holy Spirit”.
Mark has been happily married to Susan since 1976. They have three married daughters, three grandchildren as well as several “foster” grands.
Mark Fuller emerged as a pastoral leader just as the Church Growth Movement was gaining momentum. During this era, experts shared the social science, strategies, and leadership principles that made the growth of large churches seem attainable for gifted Christian leaders. While such aspirations can align with God’s purposes, many common measures of success can also be achieved through purely human effort.
Mark engaged thoughtfully with the Church Growth Movement, but his deeper pursuit was learning to live and lead in step with the Holy Spirit. He did so within a denomination whose members held a wide range of views about spiritual experiences and the mysteries of the Christian faith.
The journey of following the Holy Spirit takes many forms. In A Fuller Life, Mark shares stories, lessons, and reflections drawn from decades of pastoral leadership. His insights are shaped by accumulated wisdom, personal experience, and a lifelong meditation on Scripture.
As you read, you will be challenged, encouraged, and inspired to deepen your own relationship with the Holy Spirit and to discover a fuller life in Christ.

Pastors, leaders, you cannot miss this book! I’ve served with leaders for a lifetime in the church and a career at a major university. Among those I’ve served with, Mark Fuller is truly a rare-air leader. My experience with Dr. Fuller is firsthand—a member of his staff on the preaching and executive teams. I’ve never worked with a more secure leader in either the church or the academy: devoid of self-interest and full of intentionally, he shockingly surrounds himself with leaders who could “outshine” him. So in this book, you’ll find many insights that will launch your ministry to the next level if you apply Mark’s brilliant wisdom. But the main reason I consider this a rare, can’t-miss book is because of the authentic, humble, Christlike author who walks and talks with Jesus. Many leaders have written brilliantly, but this leader lives like The Master. And because of this you cannot miss what he has learned from experience and from the Lord! This book will change your leadership…and your life!!!

I first knew Mark Fuller as a teenager in the church where our families worshiped together. More than 40 years later, I received a phone call from him inviting me to explore joining his staff. Before making that decision, I called a friend who had previously served on Mark’s staff. I vividly remember him saying, “Dale, you and I grew up in denominations where we have heard the message of holiness preached our entire lives. Mark and Sue Fuller are the finest example I know of what that life looks like when it is truly lived.” He went on to describe their authentic love for God and wholehearted commitment to following Him.
I accepted Mark’s invitation, and over the past 16 years our relationship has evolved from staff member to executive pastor, and now to pastor. During that time, Mark walked with me through the deepest valley of my life, offering wisdom, compassion, and steady guidance. It takes genuine love to walk alongside someone in profound pain. It takes remarkable wisdom to guide them when the relationship is multifaceted—pastor, boss, mentor, co-laborer, friend, and older brother.
The wisdom found in A Fuller Life is both timeless and tested. As someone who had the privilege of watching many of these stories unfold firsthand, I can attest to the truth of the lessons shared and the integrity of the man who shares them. If you desire practical wisdom for following Christ faithfully and living a life of lasting impact, this book will encourage, challenge, and inspire you.

Several years ago I asked Mark and Sue to come to Oro Valley to give an honest critique of what we needed to work on. It became a tradition. We would go to lunch after services and it would be an hour or more of encouragement and wise advise. It was like a shot of “FULLER” adrenalin in my pastoral veins. I love this book! It will shoot adrenalin into your pastoral veins and show you the path to health in your church.

Mark Fuller has given us a rare and honest gift—a memoir that doesn’t sentimentalize the pastoral journey but instead highlights the transforming moments he has experienced along the transforming journey of real ministry. Like most great preachers, Pastor Mark is a good story-teller. His stories—raw, engaging, insightful— remind us that a life surrendered to the Holy Spirit is the only life worth calling full. A Fuller Life offers credible and compelling wisdom for pastors who want to lead in step with the Spirit. This book is Mark’s investment in your leadership. Once I started, I couldn’t stop reading.

Mark Fuller is one of God’s gifts in my life. At a time when I desperately needed wisdom, encouragement, and a reminder that the Lord was near, Mark listened to the prompting of the Holy Spirit and reached out to a Pastor he barely knew. His timing could not have been more perfect, and I will never forget the impact of that simple act of obedience. Through the years, I have remained deeply grateful for Mark’s influence, leadership, and friendship. The same authenticity, faith, and wisdom that have blessed my life are evident in these pages, and I am confident this book will encourage and challenge all who read it. I pray the Lord may use this to remind you in your time of need that He sees you as well!
